You "raced" him up a hill? They don't call you captain slow for nothing. I'm guessing he beat you and he was on foot :P

Ask Alistair about the crusie we went on last sunday night. He still won't accept the fact that I beat him on the Mt. Martha esplanade run, despite the fact that I was in my 200B and he was in his RX-7.

Haha... I can guarantee i would be one of the worst on this site. I just can't picture someone with as much hair as James street racing.

It's not like hair has any effect on driving anyway... I can't see how it interferes.

Besides, my hair is shorter now, I had a haircut about 5 months ago.

205gti's arent that good really, 3 of my mates have had them, none of them could get anywhere near my dattos or even my r31 for that matter!

That being said, the R31 is an awesome budget, bullet proof car, with considerable potential!

If you are after a ute I would reccomend a 720. L series motor can easily get a bit more poke from some su's maybe a cam and bb elec distributer. Or any other L motor if it's in poor nick for cheap 1-300 bucks. I bought myne for $2000 minimal rust (only inside tub) and 5spd, then spent $1000 on su's bluebird dissy and some rims. six stud off prado pajero ect.

check out www.downundertruckin.com as there is always heaps of ute's and spares for sale here.

Also a mate has a lil subaru brumby which you can swap out for a late model wrx or even forester motor turbo or non turbo. my mate of course chose the turbo option and all the brakes swap over too!! great little project car for future upgrades! You can probably get a clean stocker for 2-3000 maybe even cheaper. If you get the cheaper try to find a forester or wrx wreck for 1-1500 and start swapping. Check out the subi and brumby forums first for details.

or like the others for sedans it would be r31 skyline, stanza or a blueie.

good luck!

Brumby's, especially with EJ conversions are not for someone with limited cashflow.
Theyre more like 3-6k for a clean stocker.
Even stock they guzzle fuel due to the boxer style motor arrangement and spare parts are $$'s.
Stick to the old nissans...

I find it hard tobelieve any R31 could out handle a 205. Not going to happen!!
The 205 is the best hot hatch ever, and although they aren't that quick, they're more fun than any car I've driven.
I've owned 3 of them and after the second one I bought a pretty worked GTi-R which had about 200 ATW. Much quicker car, yet after not driving a 205 for about 6 months I. Went for a drive in a mates and sold the Nissan as quickly as possible to buy another GTi.
I'm going out on limb here, but although there's heaps of Dattos that would be quicker, very few would put a grin on your dial like the Pug. In fact I'm looking for another right now.
