Well, the other weekend I picked up my very incomplete 175 AG, and I need a bit of advice of how to get it going.
Here's a couple of pictures I took of the bike when I was halfway through pulling it apart:

The problem is the ignition system. It looks like it's single cylinder, I had the carby off and I could only see one piston. It's got two spark plugs though, and only one lead from the coil to the plug. Is this how it should normally look? Do I need another lead or another coil? Here's some photos of it.

It's a single cylinder, twin spark.

It should run with just one plug.

It's pretty much impossible to diagnose from a distance. But start with spark. Pull the plug out, give it a kick and see if the plug is sparking. If so, then you're ont he right track. If not then check all the wires and connectors in and around the frame.

twin spark.....??? i think its just a factory tapped hole to hold a spare plug, my old 250 is the same

Don't worry, i saw that too. I'll resolder it later.

I haven't had time for the bike lately (or money) but i'm going to pull the motor out of the frame and replace the gearbox. May even do an engine swap with my other AG, because that has brakes.

Thanks for the replies guys, i've been riding bikes since i was a kid' but i've got no idea how to fix them. This project is how i plan to teach myself.

At the moment, the motor is at Frankston Yamaha, while that work out what to do with it. I've so far not spent anything on it. They will let me know what I need to do to get it running.
