was driveing the old datto on monday. pouring down rain. sitting on 100 in a 100 zone, and the coppers pulled me over and tried to say they caught me doing 220 in a 100 zone, now if i am correct and my speedo too it will barely make 180 let alone 220. i had a laugh asked him if he was pulling my leg and got another ticket for pissing him off. now what i wanna know is what can i do, the cars in impound for 6 months, and i wont have a licence left if i pay for this joke of a ticket. any suggestions ppl?

Call the media and have you car independently tested for it's top speed. Then take it to court. I'm having a guess if it is stockish there is no way it would do 220kph

I had cops follow me through the Dandenong Ranges a few years back and claimed that they were doing 150k's trying to keep up with me. Luckily for me they didn't actually have a speed camera on board and couldn't do sh*t about it. If anyone knows the roads up through Kalista and then down Mountain HWY into Bayswater would know 150k's in a clapped out Cortina is near on impossible though there.... anyway dunno what yr gonna do, if they don't have proof then take em to court and you should be sweet.

did you ask to see the proof on the speed camera? they have to show you if you ask for it. If they didnt get you on the camera they have got nothing. Whats done to your car for it to reach 220kmph??!! haha

i asked to see the cam it said 220 and i asked when it was last calibrated, the car has twin su's on it and extractors, mild port and polish, mild street cam and thats it ive had it on long streaches of road and there no way 220 is safe in it, 140 overtakeing is hard enough let alone 220 mind you the suspension is rooted and bouncy.

Get your car tested on a race track. I'm amazed you weren't arrested at the scene if you were alleged to be travelling at that speed. Take them to court if you have to, pigs like that need to be locked up.

If it was that fast you should have been arrested and thrown in the paddy wagon. There are a few things you can do, but i'd call A Current Affair and get the car tested. This has happened before when another lady was accused about her car going too fast, it was then tested on the race track by an independent body and found that it couldn't reach the speed it was accused of.

Was meant to have been doing 180k's down the freeway i think, they had an experienced race car driver cain it and almost get it to 130k's lol. I just tried to youtube it but nothing came up.

there is a formula to work out the theoretical top speed of your car that race engineers use, i used to know what it was i think it was redline X gearbox final drive / diff ratio but i am sure if you were to contact Gibson Motor Sport they will give you the good oil on it. and yeah i am sick and tired of the cops these days with their handful of boy racer regs that they are able to interpret however they like, 220kph on the road? i don't think so lol, i have been at 215kph in my old SAAB 9000 TT and that was scary enough, but in a lil Datto hmmmmmmmmmmm me thinks seat cover would be inexorably drawn up kyber pass.

I saw that report on aca poor little 120y the guy said it was shaking itself to pieces. My dad recently challenged a ridiculous fine they clamied he was doing 50 over the limit in elwood at 5am although he lives the otherside of town and starts work at six in ivanhoe. Needless to say he got of. It also said he did it through a school zone which i believe in most cases become active at like 830 or 9am. he also reccomends aussiespeedingfines.com
