Well since we have enough interest in the EOI thread http://www.ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 23&start=0 (thanks to those that have put their hand up) I think it is warranted that we start getting organized as this is gonna take one hell of an effort on everyone's part..

The first obvious challenge is to be able to decide on a date that everyone can agree on. This is probably gonna take some discussion but i think we can all agree we need about 12 months to get organized.

Also Alex (SIX-TEN) gets his licence back in Feb 2010, so it would be nice to wait till then so the 180B can make the trip across the Bass Strait as well.

So lets say March/April 2010 is the proposed date. So put down your names if you are coming. I know its hard to make such a commitment as this 12 months prior, but we need approx. numbers to get organized.

We will probably need to put a team together to lead this project. This will involve meetings (over a beer or two preferably)
to come up with ideas, dates, accomodation and maps etc. etc. I know a few people already have put heir hands up so we wont have any trouble forming a team.

Post any ideas you have here, post if you are interested in getting involved with the organization, and post anything you would like should be part of this trip.

Our Tassie Ozdat brothers already showed interest in helping out as well as joining in for a cruise or a few beers or two so that should be big help.

I will also look into the possibility of a track day down at the Symonds Plains, for more fun and also to lure some of the guys here who love their track work.

All in all this could be a magnificent trip, with lots of great roads, lots of booze at nights, lots of Datsun talk and hopefully a track day. Lets make this huge and lets make it happen people

All the Targa maps are on this site, check it out.

I'm in, but I'll need an idea of how much money I'll need to save well in advance. I at least need enough money for a return ticket for me and my car to tassie, plus petrol.

The SOT is a bit over $400 for your car, & yourself sleeping in a cabin.

Cheers lurch. I'd sleep in a tent on deck if it'd make it cheaper.

Being a pov student is a pain in the arse sometimes.

Is that one way, or return?

I'm interested in lending a hand, and I'm also expressing interest in going.
I might be able to rope my Mum and Dad to rock up in Dad's 1600 again (like buxton!)

Was just reading on the SOT website, thought this will help everyone out by reading threw it.

http://www.spiritoftasmania.com.au/FAQs.htm

Answers most questions, like how long it takes to cross, car safety, cabins, etc etc.

Might help if everyone knows what to do when you get on the boat, etc.

Bummer its to far away for me !!

Anyway, sounds pritty awsome.

Good luck with it.
