Track day at Baskerville would be great.
Any details on cost etc.?
Might have to swing past the track for a day...
Finish of with a nice wine and dine on a hill surrounded by datsuns and their owners?

had a chat to Pedro (D4TSUN) about this today at sandown today, he is very keen but forgot to mention it to Brad and Leigh..

we almost have 10 people so it is looking good, but would be great if we can get more cars to join in.

i reckon the more people we have on board the more bargaining power we have to get discounts so come on people put down your names, lets make this happen!!!!

hey guys, I live down here in tassie and I think it would be great if u guys could make the trip down here.... if u guys need any help with anything just let me know .... I could organise a track day at baskerville race track, I havent had alot to do with symonds but have done many track days at baskerville.... im always keen to get the 1600 out to the track for a good hiding

mate thanks heaps for this, it will be a massive help to us and a track day baskerville would be fantastic!!

keep an eye on this thread and we will probably contact you as we get going organizing..

cheers
Yep, if you're going to do a track day then do it at Baskerville not Symmons. It's got a lot more corners than Symmons which makes it 100 times more fun to drive in a datsun. It's also a lot easier on cars than Symmons.

I thought it was a following targa tassie trip? I'm keen, a year is a while away so obviously can't commit for sure. getting a date is definately a positive tho

just to clarify, this is not a trip to watch the Targa Tassie, rather a trip to enjoy the Targa roads by day and piss ups by dusk, and hopefully a track day thrown in for good measure..

Hey guys, may I make a suggestion that march is probably the better time and not making it too close to targa due to accommodation avaliability/costs and road closures etc. I think they run most of it in the north of the state now with the last two days down the west coast and hobart area. Oh and Baskerville would be a better choice in terms of a track day.
Just from local experience

Cheers
Tommo

Renewing The Tassie Assault...

The missus and I will be going down to Tasmania on the 25th October, coming back 3rd November 2009, taking the 1600...

I've got an itinerary which I can share if anyone is interested for 2010..

Basically it's around $598 for two people ($110 for the off peak ocean view recliner per person) just for the Spirit of Tasmania over and back, car inclusive!

Pending how xmas work goes I could be down and have my car finished, but its the slowest time of the year and I could have no work for a month which means the car wont be finished.

thanks Nik, i havent forgotten about this but due to unexpected work travel and project commitments i have been unbale to do much.

i am still very keen to get this going, those that are interested we will need to perhaps meet up sometime in the near future, might even be a good excuse for a cruise.
