AAAaaahhhh. Tony you Baboon sodomiser. You beat me to it.

Here are a few of mine. I got everyone except for Jordans 120Y. - He was having fun though. Couldn't wipe the grin off his face.

The blue "16" 1600 was owned by Russell of Essendon Tyrepower. This thing is fantastic. Was running very low 1 minute 40s', and was unbelievable corner speed out of the 'ol L16.... Great stuff, and nice bloke.

Lurch and I were talking datsun $hit, and these two black R35 GTR's just rolled in through the Parke De Ferme and went straight to scrutineers. Was pretty funny, they didn't even pull anything out. Bloody quick and bloody quiet. I like.

It was good to meet Dave from NSW. His car is bloody great, and like the Blue "16", carried good corner speed on an unfamiliar track. Well done Dave.

You could always tell when Doug and his Bro started up their Rotary. Brad would be saying "there's the rotisserie", or "The washing machine started", and "quick, grab a chook, the spits going" :P Sounded ace in the pits.

a few more...

Good group shot showing stu's off it's nuts 120Y. This "little red" didn't complain to the winton abuse all day. Solid effort. Wankel flavoured 16 in the background, followed by Brad in his CA18DET 1600.

Leigh's LAG510, great car, sounded ace coming towards you with the turbo spooling away. Set some pretty quick laps too! Mark went out with Leigh as a 'passenger' (HAHHAhahaha), in the lag sedan, and when he got back, the turbo bug had bitten hard...Wont be long til mark fits one I think....

Action shot of Mark's 180B, and Dave's 1200. Both these guys were giving it the berries. Mark was great putting lots of turbo WRX's and Turbo silvia/200sx's to shame with his pedalling, and Dave's 1200 was just a nutter of a car where the WRX's were feeling the full 4 door power! Great to watch.

Doug's 1600, not sure if this was him or his bro. Was good to see both of these brothers doing one session each where one would go out, then come in, while the next group session was just being sent out, they swapped over drivers, and then out goes the other for the following session and fangs away. The wankel was getting a work out.

Yours Truly in the parke-de-ferme soaking up the sun, wishing it's 'arse monkey' owner sold his kidney and bought some semi-slicks. :chaching:

Good shot of Brad and Stu's car warming up in the cold winton day, with a bit of sun for added effect. Tidy cars.

and a few more!

A shot of Brad pushing hard just coming past the front straight locking the front right, possibly due to the brake bias/or front sway bar.

3rd shot showing brad coming past the winton sign, with Doug in the back ground.

2nd from bottom was doug getting sideways coming onto the straight. Having tyre problems (Yeah, it's called 'easy on the loud pedal :D ')

good work nik, i thought your hands were too busy playing pocket billiards to take any photos, but you have proven me wrong....again. The blue L16 was definitely a beast and as for the plug for Essendon tyrepower, they have helped me out quite a few times with my 1600 and subaru...good blokes.
Highlights would have to be the sound of the red skyline when it wound up on the straight, and also the induction sound of Leigh's sr20 once he found some space in traffic. The efforts of the L16 powered 1600 and the L18 (i think) 180b were a true testament of datsun ability. These cars, although heavily outwieghted in the power dept made a lot of new car owners a little embarrassed about the money they had spent on their cars. Great effort fellas!

Hey what a great weekend!

It was good to meet the rest of the crew from here finally. Thanks Brad for organising the accommodation (you have a PM), that stove idea did the trick last night!

Thanks for taking all the photos guys, getting a few pics of your car on the track is the best part once the event is done.

It is GREAT day out when 8 dattos go to the track and are capable of either driving home or mounting their trailers under their own power!

On a personal level I'm a bit disappointed my brake issues stood in the way of me getting down into the low 1:40's but you live and learn.

I'm looking forward to a bit of the video footage surfacing.

Yeah, what a great weekend. Good to put faces to names. Good bunch of blokes.

From the Performance Box data, Mal & I did 55 laps for the day. It was a well run event with plenty of track time which meant our car was going all day without much of a break. It ran well all day, just need to get me some decent tyres because it was a bit loose in the rear end all day.

My best was 1:43.1. Here's the Performance Box trace for the lap. A few key data:

- max speed 164 km/h (end of main pit straight)
- 150 past the spectator point on short front straight
- the quick left right after the main straight - 1.48 lateral G (wow, more than I thought!)
- maximum braking -0.82G

Highlight of the day for me was the Supersprint against Leigh (LAG510) - as expected he blew past me then gradually pulled away ending up a good couple of hundred metres in front. Got some great in car footage of me starting in front then chasing Leigh after he passed me. I'm having PC issues but I'll post up YouTube links when I get it sorted. Congrats to Leigh on pulling out a 1:40 lap (2 seconds faster than previous best).

Looking forward to the BigRed Syyline in car vid doing 1:33s.

I rolled home about half an hour ago, watched a bit of the drift day today...

What a great weekend! No major issues with everyones cars and a good social friday and saturday night to boot. i got to play with some suspension settings a little bit and with the added inspiration of a little competition with doug (doogs1600) i ended up with a 1:40, it was good fun to watch up close while following. It took me a little while to work out the track but i've got a good idea now for next time. the day was run really well and i'll have lots of non track day memories of the weekend too like heating out heaterless cabins with gas stoves on full burn and having to jump out of cars with too many passengers after spotting some flashing lights up in the distance.

great work on the pics too and to the non drivers for coming up and making a weekend of it! And dave(nsw) what a champion effort. i'm definately keen to head up to wakefield for a nsw/vic track day.

looking forward to some vid too :D

Awesome weekend.

Was great meeting and hanging out with you all, and awesome to see so many datto's being driven hard!
No one had any huge mechanical issues too which is a big bonus.

and a definate thumbs up  to the intelligently located rbt station in Benalla. We had so much warning we pulled over and walked through on foot! hahahaha

I loved the Winton track, it is a real beauty! It did unsurface some issues in how my car is set up, but i eventually strangled a 1:47.0 which i am pretty happy with. I'd love to get back there soon and learn the track some more, hopefully with some more power  The somehow dormant power bug has now been awakened

Looks like a few of us got inspired to make a few changes and improvements after the weekend, which is what its all about.

Good weekend, probably should of made a better effort in socialising (datones. I didnt even see you there :? ) Me and Sled510 Spent most of the saturday playing with a Bluebird carby so we could make it back to melb. didnt even really see much action.
We managed to get the car running again before we left winton today, got all the way to cambelflied for it to start happening again, curretly at dads place doing a decent carb ovalhalf, replaced the accel pump in it.

Cheers for Brad the organisor man, gave us some motorvation to work on the fun cars more.
SR20Datsun Nik really needs to get out there, No Excuses!

Awesome weekend, I know we all had a ball. Highlights for me were being a passenger in Doug's 1600 in the passenger races. Having never been in a race car around a track before, I kept wondering if he was ever going to brake as we approached corners. Definately a great car, thanks heaps for the lap, and thanks to Peter Pantsdown for lending me his helmet! Also getting a lift back in Nik's 1600, and it really is a fantastic car, and very well built. Luckily he has sorted his exhaust out, and so despite packing my earmuffs, I didn't have to use them.

Also it was really great having dinner with everyone there, and drinking afterwards, it was a shame I couldn't stay for Saturday night too but while I was there I absolutely loved it, a great bunch of guys is what we have here, and also Dave, it was good meeting you too. Hopefully we can have another day near the end of the year and I can bring my Datsun along. It will be good to bring the 200B and FJ represent

Thanks heaps for a great weekend everyone!
