It has been 1 year almost to the day when we first started discussing the idea of a Buxton Burger cruise..how time flies!!

If there is interest again it would be good to see another 25 Datsuns (or more hopefully) cruising together and about 50 people mingling amongst the cars.

Democracy is a beautiful thing so I have started a poll above to seek consensus for a cruise date.

Those that attended last year all know the logistics, but for those that didnt attend see the copy and paste from last years cruise below.

If you are keen or have any ideas you wanna throw please go ahead and post.

Also feel free to post a link to other Datsun sites.

Cheers.

10:00AM Meeting point at Chirnside Park Kmart Auto Car Park

Maroondah Hwy & Black Springs Rd Chirnside Park 3116

Melways page 37, in F5 and G5

11:30AM Leave first meeting point heading to Buxton via Maroondah Hwy

Quick stop at Maroondah Reservoir/Dam to bunch up and let everyone catch up before we hit the Black Spur as a group.

12:30-1:00PM Arrive at Igloo Roadhouse for the famous Buxton Burgers

2:30PM Head back towards Melbourne (if everyone gets through the burgers by this time)

3:00PM Show and Shine, chit chat and brag, photos and vids at Fernshaw Picnic Grounds car park.

4:00PM (or more if needed) Heading back to Melbourne.

Apart from the departure time of 11:30AM, all other times are APPROXIMATES
ONLY and may change throughout the day.

Burnouts, drifting, speeding and all other illegal activities will not be tolerated, rego numbers of offenders will be provided to Police and they will be excluded from the cruise.

There is always Police presence on the Spur and it is notorious for accidents, be sure to take care through it.

This is a cruise and not a race so enjoy it for what it is, a cruise.

Safe driving and enjoy the day.

LIST OF THINGS TO BRING ARE 2 WAY RADIOS IF YOU HAVE THEM, FULL TANK OF FUEL
ALTHOUGH YOU CAN FILL UP AT BUXTON, PLENTY OF DRINKING WATER TO STAY HYDRATED
DURING THE DRIVE, SOME COOLANT IN CASE THE CAR OVERHEATS AND SOME BASIC TOOLS
IF YOU CAN. ALSO HATS AND SUN SCREEN WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA.
APART FROM THAT BRING AN APPETITE AS THEM BURGERS ARE MASSIVE!!

Nestled in the little town of Buxton at the foothills of the magnificent Cathedral Ranges, the Igloo Roadhouse is about 1.5 hours from Melbourne along the Maroondah Highway. Once you get to Buxton, the roadhouse is only 400m down the road from the Buxton Hotel.

Lodging interest now.
Possible to meet the group in healsville tho?
As we (sled510 and I) live on the other side of the city, I'd rather just go through kinglake/toolangi to healsville, much more fun and I dont have to drive through the city :)

PS: I hate driving through the city

One Problem Arman, I don't know yet if the 180B will be finished by then?
Unless I was to win the lotto I only think half of it will be done.

I'm keen, no idea what my Datsun situation will be at that point but I'll come along.

I loved last time, except felt it was almost too short. Maybe post buxton we could do a run through the reefton spur or at least some more hills driving? there are some great roads around there.

good work for getting another one up and running fo jetdat

Yeah, I'm keen to do this again, and this time I won't be overheating - just blowing lots of smoke.

Last time I went through the spur, I had a trailer on.

I vote keep it the same date as last year. The hot weather is good and you can get a few take aways from the pub in Buxton. I do agree that the cruising part is too short though.

So perhaps the last weekend in January (assuming there are no other major events clashing with it, not that I can think of any that would be), we meet in the same place, cruise to Buxton for lunch, and then take a longer route home? I'd definately keen for longer cruising, at the recent Chrome Bumper Cruise I really enjoyed a long stink of cruising through some really nice country roads.

I might be up for this - minus a Datto though...

March sounds good to me.
