The 200B really is a skidmark on the underpants of life.

I don't think they're quite that bad...sure they're not the car that everybody likes, or the cool car from the 70s, but I have at least one great memory from all thirteen I have owned. There are definately plenty of worse cars out there.

I have one or two more lined up too

I just re-read some of this thread, and it is certainly good for a laugh.

Meh seems like the toughest looker of the bluebird series to me, not counting them long nose 180bs with the straight 6 and the pontiac looking front, those are MAAAAAD.

I go for the jap muscle look, now the 1600 is sexy, but not really very tough or 70s looking. The 180b has that tough and small drifto look which is ace but the 200b is more 70s tough, cleaner lines all in all specially around the front, the bonnet lines a gorgeous for example. the 910 doesnt have lines AT ALL, so .. lol.

But in saying all that the only reason I drive a 200b is that I couldnt afford a 240k and I will always know that every time i get into that seat.

Alistair, what DATSUN would you drive if you had heaps of money? (Just curious?)

the only reason i have kept my 200B is cause i love it. I dont have heaps of money but i have other cars i could drive. And could certainly afford to get a more pricey car than the 200B but its fun to drive i like it and it never lets me down and it has old school appeal.

Well I've had my 200b since last august and the only problem I've had so far was an indicator globe falling out of its holder.

This is not counting problems I've created myself lol, like the time i was stuffing about with my front struts and undid the centre shaft nut before taking the strut out of the car!! Had to jack it up and down and round about to get the bolt lined up and jump on the bonnet like a madman quickly trying to get the nut back on each bounce..HAHAHA

But its reliable as **** anything, I KNOW it will always start and I KNOW it will always grip and I KNOW it will go where I want and do what I tell it. Its yet to fail a challenge i've given it which is impressive. This is the 2WD four pot with skinny tires that creeps up hills without spinning a wheel and leaves my mates and their hiluxes stuck at the bottom trying to winch eachother up.

I know mines a clean white example, but this thing loves the dirt, mud, bush craves it. Now creeping up hills slowly is AWESOME, but its more fun thrashing it up spinning wheels sideways because in the end it always gets there anyway. Feel like putting some sunraysias and muddy tires on the back, but it just wouldnt make jaws drop as much as with the stockies.

Got to get that auto out, its starting to slush a little, I have a spare but I'm going manual, so i have a clutch and the option of roll starts when appropriate and more gears as the 3sp SUX.

funny when i first got my 200b i had a feeling sunraisas would look sick. I also i whited all the print on my tyres. I think its cause it looked good on the kombi.

Jandamarra has it right we love em because they do what you want and they always get you there. Granted they might fight you all the way but you will get there.

Nik, I'd go with either a C10 or a C110/240K, done up like an old school Jap car should be. I have seriously considered it several times, but I don't daily a 240K is because I can't find a neat one that is affordable at the right time, and they're very slow for the amount of fuel they drink. Plus I'm really not a fan of Datrsun IRS. A 240K wagon would be cool, but like pretty much every good car ever built, they didn't make it to Australia. How about you? Or do you already drive it?

I believe that this is a perfect argument to brought up on one of our Top Gear episodes this seasons. I think 200B's are totally hideous
