I''ve been defected for being too loud and some rust in the quarters.

Wondering if anyone else has been defected, im sure theres heaps of us.
What did they specifically check for, and what else did they defect you for when you got inspected by QLD Transport?

Things I've already thought of:
  • ride height (100mm)
  • tyre sizes
  • noise levels
  • window washer bottle hooked up
  • horn hooked up
  • everything mod plated
  • gear knob
  • steering wheel
  • rust
  • battery in boot
  • surge tank ??
  • some more i can't think of at the moment
Has anyone got any info for me, i've got a few weeks to do it. Everything is mod plated except the brakes, which are datsport fronts anyway so im sure they wont be hard to mod plate. I have to get some rust cut out and put a muffler on, and raise the car up a fair bit, but other than that, i think i should pass?

Cheers.

Oh, and would anyone be willing to lend me stock rear springs and standard wheels for the inspection if anyone has them lying around!?

I had my 1600 wagon defected on the sunshine coast and had top go to the pits,I had a twin webbered z24 motor sticking through the bonnet :) . since the cop couldnt work out why my motor was protuding the bonnet he sent me to the pits.

so I dropped the L18 back in and a pair of air shocks in the rear to raise the car to legal height.went to the pits and the guy went over my whole car.he wrote a nice page of stuff to fix  .I had to fit some roof linning, adjust handbrake, rust which was only surface rust under car,oil leaks and a few other things i cant remeber.

In the end i fixed all major things then drove up to gympie pits and the guy there was far more relaxed and past it with no probs.

so basicly just make sure everything is roadworthy

ps got some std springs you can have but im on the sunnycoast,pm me if you want them plus i have many 1600's and parts if your chasing other bits

Just to put it out there if anyone in the future is wondering the same as me...
inspection went well... had it at Darra 7am

Only things failed were my horn didnt work (blown fuse) and centre headlights didnt work, although my high beam and everything else worked, he said since the lights are there they must work. Again that was a blown fuse and two wires come apart, got it fixed no worries.
