the car was found. thanks to everyone that helped look for it. the cops have charge 1 guy and trying to charge another. We have the car back but it was fully stripped. they even took the compliance plates/ mod plates. Personalised plates are still missing. good news is that the mags were still on it., but roll cage, doors, bonnet, boot, seats, harnesses, intercooler , turbo, lights and fuel system plus minor parts are still missing.

That sux big time man, you get your hopes up when the cops say they have found your car then get them dashed in the same sentence when they say but, it has been stripped. i would like 1 minute alone with them for every part that was missing, 1 good thing i suppose is with the compliance and mod plates taken as well there will still be a trail if someone trys to get a car registered with them, luckily when my last modded 64 got stolen i was insured with Shannons and they had replacement of everything that got stripped, but that still does not compensate for all the man hours and sweat.

Just spotted this thread. Glad you have it back, well some of it anyway.

I'm in T-ville myself, so this makes me a little concerned.

i'm gutted for you mate... that's disgusting... the worst bit is, they are obviously a 1600 fan or owner to have taken the panels. or they know their worth and the bits might show up somewhere on ebay or a forum when they think the whole matter is forgotten.

i'm sure all of us here will lock it in our memory banks if something shows up

Glad you got some of it back.

Keep us in the loop on getting the other parts. We'll keep an eye out for parts on forum and ebay.
Are the cops in the process of questioning the guy who stole it? Hopefully you can get your parts back.

I knew this sorta stuff happened in the Rotary scene, but never thought it happened with dattos :( Like someone said, the theif must be a datto owner or enthusiest, or building one of his own, that's the worst bit. Hope you get your parts back mate, they certainly had their way with it.
