Yeah mate, that's a WAGS. They run both clubman and sprint circuit.

I'm just happy to be giving you boys some stick at 1 atmosphere! ;)

I should be right for the next WAGS 27 Aug after a reasonable test last Saturday AM, although the brake booster has to come off, brakes presently are either full on or nothing  A mate should be coming too with his turbo Zed, mine is this blue 280ZX.

Yeh the Enkies are light too, they do good wheels, hardly need balancing. Brakes are fixed, looking forward to Wednesday

you're back out there tomorrow? not messing around getting her sorted! That's the best day to go too - less cars and they run both the sprint and clubman tracks - which is the pick of the available tracks at QR if you ask me. Have fun.

How did you go Wednesday? Went to have a look at your Datto but you'd gone.

Hey 260DET,

Went well, probably my own worst enemy when the red fog glased over the eyes and I joined in friends games with an s14 200sx and a GTS-t 33. They both had oodles more power, but just found cornerning was letting me keep up.

Ended up with a PB on the clubman at 66.70, and quite happy with the newly added ARC4.1 from Baz (oops, that's a shameless plug). I think I need to add about 1 degree more negative camber, and we should be right for it.

How'd you fair up?

Thats a good time for the Clubman, sounds like you had fun too, what more could you want :D

Mine is work in progress, enough to say I've got a list of things to do :impatient:

Nice time datsblue that car of yours is pretty well sorted by the sounds of things.

She looks beaudafull Richard. Fine tuning is 1/2 the fun.

So who's turning up this Saturday. Weather looks dodgy so far, but hopefully it'll dry out. I've got a few more revs on board this time (7000rpm up from 6600), wider front & rear track, tyre pressures all sorted dpending on the heat, oil in the motor & gearbox, just have to play with the brake balance and we'll see what she can really do.

I have sent in an entry, Dave in the VW and Mark with the Escort are coming as well (i think).

I have played around with the rear end to try to get the car to turn in again.
fully stiffened the rebound on the rear shocks and dropped about 10mm out of the rear ride height.
might have to drop it a bit more yet, but at the moment there is only about another 10mm to pull out before I have to get the grinder/welder out.

I can really feel the arse pushing back now, feels terrible on the street, but hopefully turns 1 & 2 will like it.

There was some surprise amongst the boys in the r33 and 200sx that the little red dat was there with them, without their big turbo whistles and cresendo (spelt?) of blow off valves.

hehe . . next bit of sorting involves spanners, jack stands and time at the track. Most of the goodies in there just need to be fine tuned. Oh, and I have a task over the next couple of weeks to attack specific items with drill-bits and cutting disks whilst keeping the 3J ruleset very close!

And 'oh bugger'; Mark & Dave are going to be there and I'm not!

I'm pretty keen see how these alterations effect your turn 1 & 2 Jeff!

yeah i reckon i have lost 2 seconds a lap in cornering since removing the negative camber in the rear, turbo PB is only 0.5 seconds quicker than the n/a pb. hopefully a stiffer rear end will bring it back. If not I will have to get the grinder out

Mate, you'll be chasing shims soon to set your 'rake' correctly. Then you'll want to play with your toe on the rear too. I beleive that negative camber is easy to wind in

Add this that I think I could go slightly stiffer in the spring rates (300lb front, 1200lb rear) for my driving style.

I am easily entering turn 1 & turn 2 quicker and maintaining good speed through, and I've only just begun to play.

Have a good time on Saturday!

too much rebound stiffness could be a very bad thing at QR with all its bumps. From Carroll Smith's cause and effect guide:

Too much rebound force
- Wheels do not return quickly to road surface after displacement. Inside wheel in a corner may be pulled off the road by the damper while still loaded
- Car may "jack down" over bumps or in long corners causing a loss of tyre compliance. Car does not power down well at exit of corners when road surface is not extremely smooth

Yeah too stiff has been the concern about winding it right up, but until I try it I wont know what works and what doesnt.
full hard actually worked well on the front at Leyburn, and it wasnt exactly smooth, but as you said the rears have the extra issue of power placement.
