Hi guys,

I have owned my Datsun 260Z for a few months now. I now want to start to get it to a daily drivable state with maybe an SR or RB in there.

Could anyone recommend a garage/mechanic in Perth who had done this before?

I had a look at SST automotive in Cannington but the number and email address don't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

:D

Last time I heard Steve who ran SST automotive was working at Chris Mills. There are few places around that could do the fabrication work (depending on how much you want to spend). Rotomotion and Tenagah for example. Or you could try google there maybe places around that have premade mounts etc if you can throw a spanner around and do the work yourself this would be a cheaper alternative. Maybe email these guys see if there are any issues with using there kits for RH drive cars (I wouldn't think it would be an issue).

The second link I gave you is for Castlemaine Rod Shop over East, probably try them.

Also speak to your local Engineer on what they would sign off on. An RB would be great. An SR would be light!

it's a 260z.. so you should keep it 2.6L... say... RB26 ;)
i'd say you wouldn't have much issue getting a 2.6l turbo registered here. maybe even without an engineer... but there are forms on dpi.wa.gov.au you can fill out
and submit to the Dept of Transport and they will tell you yes or no.
I have only heard good things about Tom at PZP (now in Wangara).
Steve @ Maytech is a good guy to go to for a front cut/engine package.

Hey guys thanks for the heads up...looks like I will have to look into it a lot more I was hoping more on finding a garage that could be a drive in drive out package...but that's fine it wil be more fun striving to find parts n do stuff myself.

if anybody had anymore ideas I am open to suggestions.

Thought you were selling it?

Yeah I am in two minds at the moment and looking at both avenues, whether to sell or keep? It's quite hard to see the car sitting in the garage waiting for me to work on it...that's why I put it out there to see if it could go to someone who would have the time and patience to look after it.

Again any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers
