So ive got a datsun stanza running an L20b, with my old engine I use to have cooling dramas on the rally track, and it had a bigger radiator in it I think it had a series 1 bluey radiator in it, has anyone upgraded theres to something els,

Is there something that just drops in? or are the alloy 3 core ones on ebay the go?, mate has one in his 150hp daily stanza with out a drama, but more cooling the better

Thanks

Get the eBay alloy one as cheap as $170 posted.
For mine pressure tested its all good, I'm running an L18 and it sits pretty low on the temp gauge

Had to file one of the mounting holes to make it fit perfectly, but I've had no dramas with it.

Did you isolate the alloy rad away from metal panels with rubber soft mounts so it doesn't corrode quicker?

They apparent corrode quickly if they become charged through coolant etc.

its a crock of sh*t!!!!! if you use water it will corrode as will your cylinder head but this will not happen with coolant. just look at the 40yr old heads we use 8)

For the facts on corrosion between 2 metals

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_corrosion

Basically the further apart the 2 metals are from one another on this chart the faster the corrosion will be. As it shows Aluminium and steel are pretty much on top of one another along with zinc so steel/gal bolts are fine. However Nickel is a fair way up the list which is a primary component of stainless steel so avoid using stainless steel in aluminium.
