SSSR20 has it pretty right. Cyanates are extremely nasty shyte. Even if they're not carcinogenic, Cyanide is possibly one of the most poisonous substances on earth.

But if you can get a good respirator and mask, you'll do fine.

Now from what I gather from this conversation, 2pac (whatever that is) paint is what they use in the factories, and acrylic can peel (I'm sure to have gotten something mixed up here because I didn't read it too well...). I haven't repainted the roof at all.
Well, the pic I've attached here is what a year in Sydney's acid rain and no washing/polishing have done to my roof. Would the way to go be to sand all this rubbish back and spray on a clear acrylic coat?

i think spraypainters call that delamination.
it can be caused by spraying 2k over an acrylic base, or, leaving the base coat for too long before clearing.
the reason metallics need a clear coat is because the metallic particles will fade after an hour or so without protection from UV's.
i'd say you will have to sand back the flaky stuff & re-colour as well as clear, but best check with a couple of paint shops for professional advice.
