my mate has a 85 bluebird trx with a shitty ca20, i was wondering if the L series engines fit straight in with some or no mods??

An L series wont go straight in, you'll need to fit a series 1 or 2 front crossmember, then you'll have no probs bolting an L motor up.

I think you would have to change the cross member, use an S2 one.
Not sure about the legality of the whole thing, going backwards in engines would violate emission laws I THINK (not sure not sure not sure)
