my stock std sr20de 1600 won every round of the mt cotton hillclimb series for 2007.
it depends on the kind of events that your attending, I used to do OK at sprints, probably would have only been a mid field runner at cams ipra racing though.

I know this is an old topic but fu#k there is some tossers on these forums.
The guy has asked a question for info and half you dickheads want to bag his idea.
I myself have done the conversion to SR20/45mm Weber’s.
Works great.
So don’t listen to the nay sayers just push ahead and do it.

I found this video interesting. It's gone the other way putting EFI on an L Series.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj-Z33MO2Gk

I'd actually wondered how to do this, but after looking at the effort involved in doing this, for a horsepower gain of about 10HP, it seems like a hell of a lot of wasted time and money for such little gain. My 1600 with a worked L20B and dual Webers goes incredibly well, it's a formula I don't think can be improved on measurably on for an L Series - without going down the road of forced induction.

As for an SR20 with dual carbs I'd love to see the cost/effort equation on this, dual carbs sounds so good when the revs climb, perfect sound for a Datsun

Might only be 10hp at max power but bet driveability cold starts and acceleration all improved too.

That being said for a diy rebuild on carbies, I can't justify the costs setting up EFI still.
I like pouring my $ like my petrol into buckets that feed my L series

Yep, but there are tossers everywhere. It's a democracy, and everyone has an opinion. At the end of the day, what people want to do with their cars is up to them. If they ask for an opinion, they are going to get one.

does someone know above vid if is it a generator not alternator @ 3.24

Part of the charm of carbs is the things feel alive, full mechanical sound, need a little effort
to get them warm and crackling, but its part of the mechanical interaction that attracts.
Also there is no 10% extra hp for running efi, max hp is equal
