Does the L20b engine bolt straight onto a 1600 engine mounts.
Has anyone had much experience in this field if so was the conversion easy and what sort of power gain was made???

Cheers.......

(if it makes a difference my 1600 is a 1970 model)

the engine should bolt straight up, but u will have to use the L16 sump and oil pick up.. other than that, its the same block pretty much..

The L20 is a little taller than the L16 & L18, and as stated, the L20 sump will hit the crossmember if you try and use it.

So L16 sump and engine mounts are probably the way to go.

Power gain? I'd say the L20 would probably have more top end than the L16. In my opinion you cant beat a L20B with twin 45's on full song.
