Hey guys,

This is my first post on hear. So please go easy if I am doubling a previous post or in the wrong section.
About 2 months ago I purchased an unmolested Datsun 1600. Other than an L18 and 5 speed its pretty much untouched.
What I am looking at doing is putting a CA18DET in and having it engineered (Mod plated), its basically my daily driver and I will hopefully continue to daily it after the CA transplant.
My questions to anyone that has done it are these?
Was it expensive?
Was it difficult?
Is it worth it?
Did you have to change a lot for engineering?

The answer to the last question may vary from state to state I'm guessing. I'm in Tassie and we are now working under some other rule since September.
I'm thinking, Rear discs, better callipers, break booster, retractable seat belts?

I have done some research and From what I understand MADDAT.com.au seem to have most parts for the conversion but I thought I would see what advise I can get here.

Thanks in advance,

Joel

There was a bloke on here called 'MyDato' who did this conversion. Was a solid conversion and the CA motors are pretty indestructible.
Do a search for his build and read about some of the things done to it.
Nothing wrong with the Maddat stuff.
