I wasnt referring to national rounds, but the local state championships in which Daryl Nissan has beaten (without him having mechanical probelms) Trevor Copeland, on a couple of occasions as well as regularly beating the 600HP Jimco V8 (not that the driver of that is any good but hey. I would think if you could be running in the top 10 or so outright at a national round (which would be what was happening if you were ahead of Trev Copeland) in what would be a class 2 buggy with the proposed rule changes you would have to be pretty happy. I cannot see anything with less than an albins box and 3-400 Hp winning a national round anymore.

The honda motor does present an interesting option, because if it does truly turn backwards relative to other motors you could run the kombi box flipped around a la mid mount style, and still have 4 forwards gears.

I really cant see them upping the capacity of the class 2 buggies at this point in time, in fact I can see it going in the other direction, and having restrictors or some such placed in the class 1 buggies and some of the class 4 trucks etc. There are at least 5 new cars coming out to state rounds this season which are claiming to have well over 500HP and lets face it the accidents are going to be horrendous when and if they do happen. I just hope it doesnt cost a persons life before they tame it up a bit..
Chris.
Good luck with your motor hunt.

Rivmasta, do you race off road? What class is it? I don't know much about the classes and stuff.
just for the record the fj is only about 15kg heavier than sr and my father in law won 3 (pretty sure it was 3) off road championships with one in a class A buggy. Actually I think it was 2 with the fj and one with an L20 stroker.
