i was talking to a mate the other day and he told me that i could get my L20 to run better on unleaded by changing the cam degree. Is this true and which way do i turn it?

okay.

don't listen to your "mate". he quite obviously has been reading up too much on RB26s and thinks because it applies to one nissan engine, it applies to all. in other words, he no fkucing idea.

why would it run better?

what unleaded do you plan to use - std, premium or 98? if it's std 91RON, then yes, retarding the timing ON THE DISTRIBUTOR using a timing light would be the way to go.

if you're using 98, then yes, advancing the timing would also have the same result if done in the same fashion.

two degrees either way should be plenty. any more and you'll have to look at the CR you're running.
