This one was an MGB convertible with a V8 conversion, rather than the factory V8's which all seem to be hardtop.

It had also been considerably modified in both suspension / braking as well as engine, and (says this bit very quietly so no-one hears) it handled better than the 1600 I drove at the time.

I also got to drive a rubber-bumpered MGB imported from the US, complete with American spec suspension, and that one left a lot to be desired in the handling dept.

there was an MGB in ZOOM with a ford 5.0L in it (innit  ) that apparently handled well.

they just need better bushes/shocks/springs....actually, what else is left to replace :?: :!:

godzilladat,

You wouldnt be popping into Jap land on your way back home ??
I have a major hard-on for those guard mounted mirrors, and bugger me if no one can get them here. I have searched the net and been though a lot of Jap web sites with no luck. They muct still make them as every 1600 in Japan has them on.

Have you pulled any english sluts with your Aussie accent yet ?? 8)
Just throw a couple of real ocka "G'Day mates" around in the bar.

DatSSS73,
Try Errol at DatRats. He gets a lot of bits out of Japan and may be able to source some for you. Might be expensive though.

Datsss73,

I bought some off Ebay.

Not exactly the same but similar, nice chrome, good construction.
