I would like to see a NA Power figure thread, much like the 1/4mile and circuit times threads.

These are just some ideas for guidlines.

[1] MUST HAVE A DYNO SHEET. NO sheet NO posting.
[2] HP @ RPM / ftlb @ RPM
[3] KW @ RPM / Nm @ RPM
[4] SAE correction would be prefered. Most Dynos would use this anyway.
[5] Mod list. CAM / INDUCTION / CAPACITY / DRIVELINE eg. manual/auto. / Diff Ratio. As much info as possible.
[6] NO FORCED INDUCTION, turbos, superchargers, Turbo Zex(hehehe)

Anyone who has any ideas for more guidlines please feel free to voice them.

Should have added.....

Motor must be "IN" a Datsun. Sorry 289 not until it's fited "IN" your 1600 with a Dyno sheet as proof.

L4 / L6 / A-series / Wankel / V6 / V8 (grrrr) or any other NA motor would fit the guidlines.

IF IT AINT NA it has no place on the NA power thread.

Always fall back to Rule1, NO Dyno sheet NO posting.

Having the Mods review all postings to weed out the suspect ones is a good idea, much as they do for the 1/4mile and circuit times.

I'm going to go get my L28, pull the turbo off, and put on 200hp shot of NOS.

That count?

Dave

Sure that would count........but me thinks you wouldn't. :D
Go on I DARE you Dave. :D :bringit: :bringit:

NOS would be ok so long as you give details on the amount used.
eg L20B-155 rwhp @ 6000 rpm with 100 NOS shot. Not really that impressive. 55-65 rwhp motor without NOS.
I think if someone has gone to the effort of installing a NOS kit to their NA motor it would still fall within the No Forced Induction guidlines.

I can see why you cracked up with this before Dave, open for mega debate. But I think we can nut out some simple guidlines and rules for this to work.

Also I thought I should add this before Dave does. :) (smart ass) :D
Any fuel type would be exceptable, so long as it is clearly mentioned in post.
ULP/PULP/AVGAS/C16/Methonal/Jim Beam etc etc

Hahahah.. very well. I'll do it to my $2K challenge engine afterwards. :D

Elf turbomax drinking direct-port NOS'd L20B.

Forget the Turbo-max.

Methanol drinking direct-port NOS'd L20B

The extra cooling from the Methanol would help keep the thing together.

That gives me an idea.

Stripped 1600, 1 seat, no dash,
L18+76 Works copy Cam
Huge ports, exhaust with no muffler, Bluebird Dizzy, Holley 650 DP with mechanical secondries, Straight Methanol, 100+NOS hit, Trans braked Jatco 3speed, 5000 rpm Stall, Locked 5.1 R180.

I reckon good for 250 rwhp with NOS should be good for a mid/high 11 pass. Would show up a few V8's at the street meets.

Thats it I have talked myself into this, next project for myself will be a 1600 NA Drag car.

NOS still counts as a power adder so I personally don't consider it naturally aspirated. But in the scope of this threads thats entirely up to you guys.

This is just a list? If its not a top 10, then I dont see why anone couldnt post their figures (provide a dyno) and let us know what mods were involved

I would like to see what kind of beasts are out there. Surely the more the merrier? Maybe put them in sections 4cly N/A 4cly... Turbo... 6cyl N/A etc

NOS is seen by ANDRA as a "power adder" therefore i don't think it should be counted.

:edit: just saw Dave's post.

As soon as people start making comparisons (which is inevitable) it may as well be a top 10. I don't know, can we all restrain from comparisons?

NOS is not naturally aspirated in my opinion.
