Similar thing happened to me, except the culprits here were Justjap in sydney and evo motorsport in Fyswick, Canberra.

I shelled out $3500 for a half cut (s13 red-top turbo) and ended up with a motor, gearbox, ecu and wiring loom. Never did see the radiator, brakes, panels, emission gear etc. A box of parts went 'missing' at Evo and only turned up when I pestered them!

The conversion has ended costing me about $1000 more because of these gentlemen.

Turbovan,

They sound like a bunch of top guys. The only problem is they are in Sydney, and to make use of their offers like you say, I guess I would have to fly up there, and do it all myself.

That was the good thing about the guys that I dealt with. I thought that because they were local, It would mean i could check it out before putting the money down. Turns out they wouldn't even let me look at the cams....

Just to provide an update to all that are following at home,

I managed to get my $500 deposit back without a hitch. SO apart from being a little cheesed off, and motorless, I am not out of pocket (well, except for a few phone calls and fuel money  )

SO, I am back on the market trying to find an S14 half cut.
Oh, well it will give me some time to figure out the brakes, etc.

dude also keep an eye out for a complete s14 200sx that has been wrapped around a pole or something. u can get real bargains out there and by selling off most of the parts u can get alot of money back.
start searching through silviaNSW.com etc..

Well,

I have finally got a Half cut I can call mine!

Managed to get an S14 SR20DET with around 40K on the clock for $5K. She came straight from japan as a half cut. (so jap spec power!!)

Got the motor from Type M imports in Dandenong. Not a bad bunch of guys.
Check em out if you are in Melbourne.

LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!

Cheers.

Nice one. looks like you got the lot except panels. You should make some good coin from the parts you dont use :)

For those who are following at home:

Shameless plug:

Type M imports
14 Glomar Crt Dandenong South 3164
PH: (03) 9793 0235
MOB: 0412 351 454

These guys got the half cut (well they brought one into the country and a friend of mine said they had it there on the floor. My friend also was nice enough to put down first 'dibs' on my behalf for it!!)

These guys seem fairly good. IMHO.

Oh, and yes, I agree, I am not looking forward to pulling it out. All part of the fun I guess!!!

Any recommendations as to some of the bits I might need to keep (and not throw away...) which might be able to be used in the conversion?

The other thing is, I agreed with the importers that some of the parts that I really couldn't be bothered selling (such as the dash foam section) I would return to them. This was part of the price agreement. What am I going to do with the S14 foam dash section!? Also the power steering pump was another.

"Also the power steering pump was another"

Ive yet to do a SR conversion, but i thought that it was power assisted, do you have another pump or is their no power steering needed? :?
