 Post subject: L20 CRANK IN TO L18

Can anyone help with what is needed to fit a 2l crank into a L18 ie line bore cut down counter weights which rods/bore ect.

line boring is definatly needed, but maybe you could just grind the crank journals smaller??? don't know
i would say that you would have to use l18 rods but find some pistons with a reduced pin height.
I don't think cutting down of counterweights is necessary but maybe a small amount of grinding of the block.

Align boring is very expensive if you want it done right. Not many machinists will even attempt it so pick wisely.

Excellent project though.
