I have found an alternative after market water pump for my G15 engine (SP310) but I will have to hunt up the part number for you.
Do you have any pics. or specs for the original pump?
I'm guessing the pump you require will be similar

Another site (http://dsoanews.tripod.com/non_gen_66_1600.htm) suggests the Repco WP1754, I might give that a look.

I'm just trawling though the parts numbers now... Thanks for your help I'll get back to you.

I got the pump from repco (it's the GMB one - the repco one's not made anymore), brought it home to compare and they appear different... I don't get it - does this mean I need to use parts from the repco pump to repair my existing one? has repco put the wrong pump in the box??? Nissanman what are you using in your 1500? Is it the WS618 repair kit from Repco?

Turns out the H20 water pump (from an Urvan) is a perfect fit - fitted it and all's well. Don't know why that website says W1754 - I think the part I got is W844 - it's the entire unit too so it's a cinch to fit...
