12 months ago i fully rebuilt the motor it runs standard everything. I have just bought a pair of SSS side draft carbs which i will fit soon but i also have EVIL thoughts of fitting a cam as well. i want it to idle but i want good power in the low to mid range it won't be high revving. what am i hearing about electronic ignition? do i need extractors, what cam should i shove in it? is it as easy as just putting a big cam in the head or is there more to it? anything would be of assistance :)

a cam will help make the most of the twin SUs - something along the lines of a 72/74/76 deg cam (with lash pads to suit).

make sure to fit good tuned length extractors (not off the shelf pices of sh1t) but this may be costly. a good 2in exhaust and an early L18 exhaust manifold will do the trick if you can't afford extractors.

the elec dizzys to get are off the S1 and S2 bluebirds.

if you require any more info, please use the search function on this site.

good luck.

get a electronic dizzy when you can, with mount and coil from car
get a early stock extractor manifold they are cleaner and ezer to get the bolts instead of using u joint type wrenches(at least the L20s I seen in the states had the crappy manifols and intakes also(emissions)

File comment: this is a genaral overview of whats listed. Aussie part Suppilers might be slightly different but close. in general my cams are not that big so I use the .150-180 retainers to hold the lash pads in. but bigger will be fine also if valve lash is not too lo
