This is just out of curiousity at the moment :D are there any heads that crossflow and just drop onto the L28et block? eg same height, bore etc

look, this is real heresay - but i have it on advice from a mate's mate that Nissan made a truck engine in the US based on the L six and had a crossflow head. it was diesel so the valves and ports may be a bit small but it's food for thought and if you're REALLY desperate i guess you could hunt one down.

on the flipside, why aren't all the US Z boys running truck heads...?

just saw this post, it is food for thought! i dont suppose you know the head number or anything like that just so i can find a bit of info before i make a choice

You're right. It is really heresay. As far as I know the only cross flow heads for the L6 are the LY head as developed by nissan for the 240Z rally car I believe, and the OS Giken head.
