after taking my car to get the intercooler done the mech didnt put my choosen water rad in because he said it was to big....ie it had to much volume. i thought that it was a good size.

details as follows

out side

L 3700mm
H 200mm
W 70mm

it holds approx 1.4 litres

i dont know how much water the rs liberty w/a intercooler holds+the water lines.

i would of thought it would be great.

ps its a denso air to air intercooler that i would like to use as the water rad. i am only assuming that it would just be suitable to use.

Your mechanic probably thought that at just over 3 1/2 metres wide, it would hang out into traffic in other lanes :D

Seriously though, I am about to get a Subaru unit. I was going to design my own setup but a few people recommended these.

There are currently three going on the rsliberty forums, from $200 up to $250 for the complete setup (radiator, intercooler, pump, piping, brackets ).

I reckon $200 is pretty cheap, even if I do decide to buid my own down the track sometime. Besides, I've got enough to do without overly complicating things.

PS If you're interested, I'll post the sizes of the various bits when they arrive (hopefully by the end of next week)

Did he say what he thought the negative effects of too much volume is? I cant think of any negative effects off the top of my head.

no he didnt...i am starting to think that he just didnt want to fit it. i can only think that because it is a air/air cooler he didnt think it would work.

the denso intercooler is like a aircon condensor. has two tubes down the ends and fins running side to side. if anthing i could always put a tank in the lines with smoe ice in it........i have thought about gettnig a container within a container so ice wouldnt melt to fast. just to cool the water not add to the water if you know what imean,

graham
