Hey all, I've been searching for an L28E for ages to replace the one in my skyline. I've found 2 at a 4x4 wreckers but I want to make sure that it will fit with my 280zx 5 speed and I also have an N42 head I want to put on as well as standard bore flat top pistons... All from a 280 L28E. I'm guessing manifolds and stuff should still fit the Patrol engine.

Thanks Alot.
Jayson

Replacing the head = good move. When I was looking for an L28 people told me that the ones from Patrols had different cams that where designed for low down torque & not high revving power.

I was also lead to believe that the sump tray was slightly different but you could probbly use your old one on the new engine. So just check this out before you buy :)

Yeah, I heard about the sump but mine is is fine so hopefully that should be OK to swap over. I completly pulled apart and cleaned the bottom end today and all looks to be ok.

Thought I may aswell use my head instead of a stock one anyway. I think I'm going to use a fair bit of stuff from the old engine.
