I have just aquired an 85 TRX with the CA20 motor in it. It hadnt run for over 3 years, but I drained fuel, checked lines etc and replaced the filter. half a can of 'start you bastard' later and repaired a few damaged vacuum lines and it fires and runs alright however when its cold it tends to backfire out the carb a bit, and has absolutely no power below about 3 grand. Even when warm its got no power below 3500rpm and doesnt seem to want to rev very freely, however from 3500 to the redline it seems to rev well (As well as any stock CA20 is going to rev). Does anybody have anything I can try or have experienced this problem before and know how to fix it?

you could start with cleanin out the carby of all the sh*t its got from sittin for 3 years
