hi, this if my first post. i actually dont kno too much about datsun but i love them.

anyways, i was wondering if installing an SR20DET would be a good choice in a 240z. i mean, with the smaller engine, the 240z would handle much better right? although u are loseing two cylinders the SR still packs a punch.

has anybody done this yet? what are your opnions on it?

Also Richard (260DET on here) has a FJ20ET to his 260Z.
At a guess you'd probably loose some low end torque - but I've never driven/seen one in action.

I have had a good close look at an SR in a 240z, as you can see in the photos Lurch posted the engine ends up waaay back in the engine bay. The one I looked at was mounted different to that though, with a large mounting plate made up that went on the front of the block and then to the crossmember. Compared to the common RB swaps it looks to be a more difficult swap.
