I an pretty new to datsuns and am not sure of the differences between all of the L series engines or if there are any other options i could take. My cousin had an insane sr20 in his but i don't want to do that yet. I just want something responsive, non turbo and that can take the odd caning, it'll have a bulletproof driveline to.

GO an l20, they are a great old engine. Easy to work on rev really well and as long as you look after them just keep going.
