Can anyone offer any suggestions as to whether any L-series (or Z-series ?) motors may have been fitted with crankshaft pulleys that take multi-rib belts ?

ie similar to the one in attached photo. A pulley with one multi-rib and one normal v-belt slot would be even better :!:

None that i know of, Get onto Baz he was the supercharger guru, and would probably still have some of the ones he used somewhere.

Some of the later pulleys like s2 bluey are a bolt together setup (the pulleys bolt onto a centre), so you might be able to adapt another pulley onto onE of them.

The supercharger setup I had used a VT power steering pulley (I think) which bolted (don't know if it had been modified or not) to the front of my L28 crank. This was 4 or 5 ribs, I don't really remember, and drove the SC14 I was using.

Might help you,

Dave

the 1UZFE power steering pump is often ditched in conversions, and has almost the perfect sized pulley for about 9psi boost.

go here  www.lextreme.com and head to the 1UZFE forums under OEM parts for sale - lots of AUS members on there too.

Ok, plenty of options.

I spoke to Baz this morning, and Datsport have what I feel are reasonably priced pulleys to do the job.

Just have to measure up my blower pulley tonight to see if Datsport's pulleys are the right size to spin the blower at the appropriate speed. If so, I'll get one - I've got enough other stuff to fabricate / make fit without making work for myself just to save a few bucks.

Done the measuring - Datsport's pulley isn't just "OK", but is just about the perfect size :D . Spot of luck, seeing as they are designed for a completely different supercharger.

14 psi with the blower hitting its redline as the L18 hits 7500 rpm.
