Do you guys think its kinda wrong to put a rotary in a 1600?
do you think its the same as putting a SR20 in a RX-3 or any car that came out with a rotary?

I say if it gives you what you want for the right money then it is a good idea. You should build a car for yourself, stuff what other people think.

Doesn't bother me one bit either way. If it goes hard then it's all good.
Why do the same thing that's been done a thousand times before just so your Mazda/Nissan/Datsun/whatever badges match?

*Lurch gets up on his high horse*

I firmly believe in keeping engines in the same make of car.
A rotisserie in a Datto is just wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong...
Don?t degrade our sacred Datto?s - if you want a Rotary, go buy a Mazda.
Same as a SR into an RXwhatever.
(BTW, I don?t have anything against Rotary?s for that matter).

I reckon you should stick with Datsun engines. None of this modern Nissan crap . Go the L-series :!:

Just kidding. Some of the most impressive 1600's I've ever seen were the "Dazda" rally cars of the early '80s. I tend to agree with bob260 - its your car, do what you like not what others think is right.

it's a glorified, steerable caboose self-propelled by a gasoline-assisted airpump.

who gives a flying fukc who makes the airpump or the cart... :?:

i've seen an SR in an 808 as a matter of fact, and was a much better proposition than a rotor. was quick, fuel efficient and best of all - different.

i might get tinkering to make my hywoo falcodore benz a reality now...

I say - Go for it!! Have a friend building up a mini panel van whos thinking of powering it with a 10A rotory, now that's different, and it'll be quick!

Actually I'm quite pleased he's putting some Japanese go-how into it and leaving behind the brittish rubbish he he he!!

hmm i'm a person who likes to see people use the parts from the company that the car belongs too...

eg.. i hate seeing gemini's with SR20DET's but love them in a 1600 or what ever...

BUT

As it has been stated, a modified car is a way of expressing what YOU like so if it floats your boat then do it, and if people give you slack tell them to bog off!

:D

ohhhhh gosh daniel now im gonna cop it even more from the guys   haha jokes ;)

i love rotors n i love my datto and its my car and i want what is gonna make me feel ontop of the world, i know someone who is putting a ca18 in a mazda becoz he likes the engine. These days engines that come from a specific car are getting put in everything lots of 13bs in gemini's too

People that will have a sook becoz u are "changing" and "destroying" an original classic need to realise as soon as you take that original factory engine outta the car ur changing it so you really cant win, if every car kept in the same family eg rotors in maztangs and sr's in dattos for example it would get boring and repedative and no one would be different and its a challenging experience but hey you cant please everyone so just please yaself :)
