Just curious, what would be the first thing to fail out of the head an block if the internals were all forged and o-ringed block/head with lets say arp fasener??

Also is there any difference in the crank from l28e and l28et?

also does anyone know if there is any difference in the bore size?

is there any difference in the intake and exhaust between the p90 and non-turbo head (sorry dont know the code). i assume there would be but i am just not sure of the specs

Cheers

Joe

First thing to fail: possibly the timing gear from chain slap. If using standard crank apparently the harmonics which occur around 7500-8000 (it is a very specific RPM that it occurs at, but I don't know what it is) will pop the flywheel off the crank due to metal fagiue. There is an excellent read on this topic on the ATI superdamper website, and they just happen to make one for the L28.

P90 head is also closed chamber (despite its larger volume), hence has better squish characteristics. Or so I believe, never seen any proof nor have I worked it out so take that for what its worth.

thanks guys thats answers most questions

When i said fail - meant that when i pump too much boost, (assuming all the internals hold up) i ask because at the moment i am running the non turbo head/block but have the turbo parts sitting at home

Assuming all the components are strong enough to withstand the pressures involved and you don't detonate the engine, there isn't really a limit to the amount of boost you can run. GTR-700 doesn't use its wastegates on full-power.
