Turbo can still use MAF, but MAF isnt going to tell you very well when the driver stomps on the throttle and you need accel enrichment. MAF really isnt such a bad means of determining how much fuel to inject as it detects the mass of the air (hence the name) not the volume, so things like temp differences and pressure differences (eg altitude) are basically cancelled out. 300ZXs and RBs use MAF, SRs do as well IIRC.

Just did a bit of hunting arround:

http://yarchive.net/car/l-jetronic.html
According to this site it seems the L28 uses L-Jetronic injection, an old Bosch system. This guy notes that if the 02 sensor is grounded it will flood the engine - maybe something to look at.

http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/april05/ask_sarah/
Sarah here says that the L28E has a vane style airflow meter. This will be located in a similar way to a MAF sensor. I dont really know much about the operation of these, my understanding is that they have a vane inside that changes angle depending on the airflow - maybe check that is working properly.

If you have access or know someone with an osciliscope or a multimeter that can tell you duty cycle it might be worth checking the duty cycle being given to the injectors while starting. The guy in the first link mentions it, not a bad idea and would at least tell you if I am barking up the wrong tree.

Oh while I am remembering, there is a little black box called Boost Sensor, I'm guessing thats the MAP sensor, it has 2 vacuum lines (4 vacuum lines in the same area) and two different places to connect them, they are both on the intake manifold.

I'll try my best figure that out aswell, if anyone can provide me with a photo or something of these lines it'd be helpful!

Well It still won't start. I think it may be flooded, but everything looks as if its all ok.. Obviously it's not but oh well.

It's weird it won't run off aero start!

What about you unplug the computer and turn it over for a couple of 10 second or so period on full throttle to get all the old fuel out of the chambers? Then plug it back in, give it a quick hit with the Aerostart and see what happens? Perhaps try to start it with your foot on the throttle to give it a bit more air? Should be able to get a bit of a stumble out of it at least?

Yeah stock injectors, or what came with the engine when I bought it, they worked fine with the old engine though.

I'll give that computer idea a whirl and see what happens!

I have no idea, but I'm guessing not.. The engine is over 20 years old. Did they have that technology back then?

It seems the car floods almost straight away, I blew out the cylinders and tried again and it almost started then just kept winding over. Any ideas anybody?

Check your cold start valve. Could also be leaking injectors.

Unplug your Thermotime switch. It's up front beside the temperature sensor.

It tells the cold start injector to stay on when it goes bad.

Once you get your car re-started, rev it up a little to keep it running until the excess fuel is burned off and then it should clear up.

Then get a new Thermotime switch.
