Hi All
I have a 4 speed box in a 720 diesel ute (column shift) - cab off resto.
It does not seem to have any identifying codes on it except for #2
Does anyone know which diff this is. I am assuming it isn't a 71 series.
From what I have read it is common in Australia.
Tks

The 720 series was fitted with a huge range of petrol and diesel engines / 2WD and 4WD / transmission drivetrain combinations, depending on where in the world it was sold.

In Australia, 4 speed equipped vehicles with column shift typically used R4W71B transmissions (the 'R' signifying "Remote" shifter, ie. column shifter, in contrast to the F4W71B ie. the 'F' for "Floor" shifter) in them behind the SD diesel and L or Z series petrol engines. So, yes, it is a 71 series gearbox actually.

In countries with 720's fitted with J16 engines, the 4 speed usually was the R(or)F4W63L gearbox.

I hope this helps?
