Hey guys, this is my new 1600 and im tyring to figure out whats in it as the guy i bought it off didnt really know much about it. The brakes are a bit spongy and i figured out why, i need to know what calipers these are and if there is a vented (as opposed to solid) rotor that will fit so it doesnt have to run these stupid brake pads with old brake pads in them (not only dangerous but gives sh*t pedal feel). Any help would be appreciated.

they look like early Toyota 4 runner callipers. they came in two set ups. ether solid or vented, yours are obviously for solid so vented wont fit.

Hey guys Cheers, old tin, given that callipers require the use of old pads as well as new pads in each calliper to take up the gap, I'm thinking that they are supposed to be vented rotors but because solids are thinner the previous owner used two sets of pads to space them out as you can see in the pic hopefully.... I hope I'm explaining this properly haha I'm a mechanic but wording this is harder than I thought.

hahaha i never noticed that there where two sets in there. have a look at the back of the callipers, it should have s12+8 or s12w. Google s12 callipers on a datsun, it shuld tell you all you need to know
