Hi I want to convert all my 4 lights on the stanza to h4 hi /lo beams hehe he.
I know I need to run relays that's fine. How do I wire all 4 as the inner there are only 2 wires not the plug.

Cheers

The inners were originally intended to be HI beam only so therefore they only have one filament, i.e. two connectors only.
If you want to run 4 LO beams and 4 HI beams then you need to fit dual filament headlamps and therefore 3 terminal connectors to each unit.
You also might want to check the legality of your plan :(

Yes I understand the filament etc. Will be replacing sealed units with semi sealed units.
Figured while upgrading just h4 all of them.

Was reading up and no clear answer on lo and hi beams well the number of them must be in pairs and not shining high beams within 200m into on coming traffic. Also no more than 6 white lights facing forwards

"Also no more than 6 white lights facing forwards"

I know... adrs vic roads etc all ambiguous. But pre 1991 can update lighting and only advised not to use high wattage globe's. ... not mandated like post 1991 from my interpretation of adr42

Ok I called vic roads. And got to tech area. The adrs and legislation for pre 1991 cars is ambigious.

They state under adr 48 that as long as in paisr and aysermetricaly each side then can have up to 6 forward facing lights with white light only. Doesnt differentiate between high or low beam except spotlights must only come on with high beams.
Might give it a go and see when it warms up.

I'd suggest either getting your hands on another pair of Stanza headlights and grabbing the two outers to make up the 4. Re-solder the 3 pin plug with the existing earth and high beam, and then run a relay for the low beam on the inners to prevent overloading the existing fuses & wiring.

Anything is possible hey. I'd look mad at night and the power of 4 lows and highs would be sick. As long as they're aimed sweet you shouldn't get too much trouble with people flashing you assuming you're on highs. Probably suggest that you aim the inners lower than the outers so they appear a tad more dull in oncoming traffic's eyes.

I'm interest to see how you go, keep it posted.

With quad h4's hell yeah. Even 55w light's up the road. I love people move out of tge right hand lane down the freeway now too.
They are aimed down slightly so not in peoples vision. Highbeams well thats mega bright.
