Hey all, im trying to wire in a new radio for my 120y but i noticed on the back of the radio there is only 6 wires (2 grey, 2 green, black, and red). Im confused because it should have a yellow wire aswell for 12v, and im guessing the 2 greys and 2 whites are for back right and left speakers. If anyone knows about this please let me know, iv tried find this in diagrams but doesn't seem to help with these colours.

Its a 1978 120Y Sedan, appreciate it if anyone knew something, cheers.

Newer radios have a constant live wire to the radio that keeps the clock and radio station settings from being lost when you turn the ignition key off.
You may need to wire in an extra cable for the new style radio. Pics would help show what you are saying.
Make sure you connect the appropriate coloured wires to power souces that are either 'constantly on' or 'only on with ign key on' etc.
Your radio manual and a decent workshop repair manual wiring diagram should show the info you need...

You'll need to run new wires to speakers too. The old-school radios had just a signal wire to a speaker and the other speaker terminal was earthed - this will blow up the amp in your new radio.
The new ones all need both speaker terminals connected to the correct wires from the "head unit" as they call it now.

Mostly OK, needs typical rust and panel work.
