Thats a fantastic curve, Its still making power at 9000rpm!!

Does gearing have any major effect on the final figure? eg would running a 4.6 diff give you a different figure than a 3.7??

What fuel do you run, not avgas being a rally car??

its got a 5.1 diff which has the most frictional losses of them all, aside from losses it shouldnt make any difference what diff ratio, or gear you are in as torque and speed just trade to the same power number.
i reckon the reality is likely to be very different, and cos of the many variables i dont have a lot of faith in most chassis dynos.

its on 98 pump feul.

its a normal 2L bottom end in an L18 block, flash rods and pistons..
but the head is not very normal, ive welded lots of it solid and milled out new giude bores to put the valves in a different position etc.
it ends up flowing nearly as well as an SR or FJ head, so the potential for power is similar.

Which head do you use A87?

Here goes FJ20e mild rebuild.
bored 20 thou
Std pistons with 20 overbored rings
Std Rods and Crank with full balanceing including clutch
Head std although I think my head guy did something but won't tell me. :wink:
Std Cams apprenatly :wink:
Std injectors 220cc I think?
Std ecu no piggy backs
Std air filter and MAF

77rwkw @ Hyperdrive - powerrun
72rwkw @ Extreme Ford Turning - Nispro National Dyno Day - Trophey for highest 4cyl NA

real lumpy power curve.

New recent mods;
removed Std ecu & std air filter and MAF

MicroTech LT8 & pod filter and tuned properly

88rwkw @ Hyperdrive - 12 run Dynotune

Nice smooth power curve.

new mods planned;
T3 Turbo on std manifold
FMIC & n13 radiator with twin thermos
510cc injectors
3" exhaust

Not sure on cams but will post up when I edit post with dyno sheet. As for what is broken not sure yet but I'm thinking it's spun a bearing, will be removing sump and having a looky to see if I can see anything when I'm back in Perth in a cupla weeks. :(

I got 75rwkw out of my na fj, bored, forged flattops and mild cams, everything else the same as yours, then afterwards I found the exhaust cam was a tooth out :oops: haven't put it back on the dyno yet...

I don't understand how ppl have flattop pistons in a FJ as there are 10mm crowned with valve reliefs and flat tops would lower the compresion.

77 to 72rwkw that could just be a differance between dynos there was no tuning changes made to mine and I lost 5kw. :? :roll:

Would be interested in seening the new dyno with only changing the cam tooth?????????

different piston height ? or shaved head / smaller valve chambers ? (yeah i'm making this up as i got along, but it sounds good right ?)
