Towed my old man's pug on a heavy old car trailer after his gearbox fell out.
Got wheel spin trying to pull the damn thing!

Tell him to get a real car

How was it? I'd like to do a fair bit of towing in the future with my wagon, which is longer and a bit more weighty than a 610, although I'm a bit concerned it's not gonna enjoy towing Toranas around all that much.

No dramas at all.
That car would tow a mountain.

As long as you're just towing around town and the trailer is properly braked... I can't see how it's a 'pretty stupid thing to do'

Small car towing big load at 80+km/h on the other hand, can be stupid.

It's stupid as the tow bar and mounts are most probably not rated to tow that load.

Its a good way to fry a clutch if youre not carefull.
And yeah, watch out for swaying at speed if you dont have a decent tow vehicle...
