Hi doogs, yeah myself and a few mates usually attend events together. There are three SR dattos around the 200 kw mark (which makes it very close) and an injected L20b 180b.

We're aiming to be at the next PIARC weekend at the end of April but usually race with thw WRX/Skylines Australia crowd as im an SAU member. I lapper PI in 2:02 when i was at datnats last year and have made heaps of improvements in the braking, suspension and power stakes so was hoping to get sub 2:00 but only had one session before the rain came.

Is yours the blue L series turbo? i went to have a look at that out of interest when it was for sale. Are you going to be at the PIARC end of april weekend?

hey mate

how did you find the t3 stuff?
Looks and sounds good, keep meaning to get some of the coilover things and camber tops.
Much better value than datsport even though datsport apparently can stock this gear.

Anyway, have you any pics of the struts??? IE complete without wheels in the way.

cheers

James

I decided against the t3 coilover hardware due to the fact the threaded collar is alloy. But still great value.

So you got an iron collar?

I thought steel or another type of alloy would be better for rust prevention, strength, looks etc???

cheers

I was being smart. You said you didn't like the fact they were alloy. I was joking about what else you could possibly use if not an alloy.....

Getting back on point, why don't you like the fact they are alloy.......

cheers

James

WELL DONE. LOOKS GOOD. DID YOU CUT ANY SHEET METAL TO FIT THE INTERCOOLER? WHERE DID YOU BUY THE INTERCOOLER FROM?

i like the t3 stuff because its cheap and has a few advantages over other stuff i've used. The coilover kit is an interesting way of doing things, not necessarily the best but does work. You get a steel collar that is welded to the strut, makes it nice and light i guess. There is also only one platform nut that gets locked with an allen key allowing you to lower it a little more. There is also a great range of spring rates and lengths. I will try to get pics up soon.

here is a little vid that a guy who came with us put together as his car was stuffed.

It's american gear, they don't really have any engineering tests to pass.

ummm, not really sure what that is supposed to mean, but i like the way that t3 do that part of the coilover as it allows a lower ride height.

anyway its been a little while since my last update, i've been tinkering doing little tidying up kind of mods. I bought some heat shielding to make up for my turbo manifold and exhaust housing.

Also i had previously been running an intank efi pump and was loving the lack of fuel smell and noise in the cabin but unfortunately i noticed around the long sweeping corners at phillip island the motor was cutting out due to fuel surge. I know i could have eliminated this by always having a full tank but i really need to go back to a surge tank. I sort of stole the idea off stewart wilkings for a surge tank that mounts under the rear seat and has a mount to hold the pump welded onto it. i have bought a trusty bosch 044, i'm not looking forward to the noise but at least it will supply the fuel well. running -6 fittings to the 3/8 line. 5/16 return from the surge tank to the tank.

here are the bits, i'll post a pic of the finished product in a couple of days.

Wasn't meant to offend, was just a comment that the american guys don't have to pass engineers test etc when say reversing a crossmember or dropping an SR20 in, thats why you see so many hacked up shitters getting around in the states. Example is that one company is selling a crossmember with the middle cut out and just some round tube between the 2 sides.

With your fuel pump, if you get the proper fuel pump insulation, you can drop the noise alot, I've got a 044 on a SWR surge tank with the rubber he supplies, let's just say you can hear it over the motor = not cool.

Most of the US alloy adjuster are loose on the strut tube.
comments on the 510 realm mention wrapping the strut tube with tape to stop rattles.
