bout time I made a thread here! most of you have seen the car on datnet or my blog but I have been meaning to make a thread on ozdat for a while, since I post here it's the right thing to do. I won't put all the progress pics here but if anyones interested in all the details just head to the Project 510 section of my blog. http://buildthreads.wordpress.com/category/project-510/ (as with all blogs its all in reverse chronological order, so head to the start and work your way back)

1969 Datsun 1600

Body
Ford Sno White respray (previous owner)
Re-chromed rear bumper & numberplate light surround
NOS tail lights
Mk1 Volkswagen GTI front lip
'73 JDM grille & headlight surrounds
GT teardrop mirrors

Engine/Driveline
FJ20ET, 3" exhaust, 155kw at the wheels
5spd gbox
R180 LSD

Suspension
Front struts converted to coilover, shortened 50mm (by LAG510)
Koni Yellow Z31 inserts, damper adjustable
T3 Weld-on coilover kit (by LAG510)
T3 adjustable camber tops
Nissan America 1" bump steer spacers
Troy Ermish Racing rear coilovers
Whiteline swaybars front & rear (rear disconnected, too low - anyone want it?)

Brakes
F: Verada discs & VL calipers
R: R31 discs

Interior
N13 Pulsar front seats (not recommended, too soft, installed by previous owner)
Autotechnica Steering wheel
White venetian rear blind

Wheels
Work Ewing III (refurbed by me)
F: 15x6.5 +21
R: 15x7 +16
Hankook 195/45/15 tyres

Future plans:
Front mount intercooler (purchased), alloy radiator, modified plenum to clear intercooler piping (purchased)
WRX front seats re-trimmed to match stock rear seat, new door trims, Nardi Classic steering wheel (wood or leather, can't decide).
Wolf Creek CV conversion (purchased, in transit), R32 RB20 gearbox
A re-spray would be nice but not for a while

how I bought it...

Nice work Anth

Pity I have never seen your car in real life but hopefully I will tomorrow at the chrome bumper meet; Just love how clean your car looks and the way it sits, make sure you don't touch the suspension leave it as is.

Thanks mate. I still have the wheels but I'd like to keep them as spares. They're not worth much at all, just stock R31 Skyline Silhouette wheels, jump on the r31skyline forums and you'll find a set cheap, just takes a bit of elbow grease to get them looking good

Yeah dude make sure you come down, would be good to finally meet you. The suspension is only going in one direction...DOWN! haha (only if I weld a tunnel in the floorpan to tuck the exhaust up like the guys on ratsun.net) But I'm really happy with the height that it's at...just gotta keep away from speedbumps

Just tell me when and where Pedro. I'll grab the camera from work and we can get some cool night shots like the ones I posted above. I'm no expert but I can fluke a decent photo

Cheers mate...feels weird having people tell me they like my car since it wasnt long ago I didn't have one and I was complimenting everyone else's cars!
Interior has remained unchanged from when I bought it, these are the only pic's I could dig up...

Hoping to make a start on the interior soon though

Mate that is a stunning ride.. I love the chrome and JDM touches. Ride height is mint. Just needs obscure period style wheels in mean offsets from the motherland and it would be my fave 1600 in Aus.

Love that JDM look, amazing what a difference wheels, grille and lowering makes. Would be good to have a bit more offset (spacers) to fill out the guards. Top job.
