So i got the Datsun bug again, just couldnt help myself. :D

So the plan with this car is to have a nice / not over the top weekend car, and maybe do a hill climb every now and then in it.

As it sits at the moment its out of rego and needs a few things sorted. Its got an l18 that is leaking a fair bit of oil, a clutch issue that needs sorting, and some pretty serious wiring problems. The interior has had some money thrown at it with new roof lining/carpet/door trims etc. most things just need finishing off, as its missing things like scuff plates and gear boot, some of the padded sections at the bottom of the dash.

All in all i think i got a pretty descent car for the dollars i payed.

Any ways heres a few pics.

Yeah true but it's a 1600 that's all that matters. Looking forward to the build.

How does it look body wise Trav? You just going to fix up what you can now so that its drivable or rework it while rego is out?

I don't want to offend either, but if you get the opportunity, can you please do something about the colour. haha.

That was on ebay for $3k wasn't it? I think Todd (toddat) used to own it, he can probably give you some background on it.

Body looks good in the pics.

The paint is still quite good although it does need a bit of love. It does have some rust bubbles in the usual places but nothing that im to woried about just yet. I think my plan with this one is to just tidy up the body the best i can and concentrate more on the mechanical / electrical side of things to get it as reliable as the white one was. So no colour change just yet  Besides i think it looks good in yellow, although it does need different wheels, im just not a fan of the dragways.

Im not sure if it was on ebay, i found it on carsales last week. Yeah Todd built this one, spoke to him briefly about it and will hopefully be able to see some pics of the build. Its kinda weird, this will be the second car that ive bought that Todd has done up at one stage.

I havent had a great deal of time to be working on it, although i did pull the mud flaps off and sorted a clutch issue, so thats a start i suppose. Hopefully il get the car home some time this week so i can get stuck into it. Il try and get some better pics to

If I ever go to sell the Black Dato Trav I think I will just ring you, seems you end up with all my old cars.
Here are a few pics that I found I have a heap more I will scan them when I get time.
It had the L20B turbo set up when I sold it years ago.
I have heaps off photos of it in bear metal it is a really good body when I striped it back(better than the old white one).It has no singe off any accident damage for a x rally car
It too (like the white one) was sprayed in my back shed
I re did the interor and roof lining ,new rubber kit and carpet and sold it
It sat in my mates front yard in the weather for 2 years so thats why the rust started to come out
Post more pic ups when i get time
