If it's just in the hanging panels, I wouldn't be stressing too much.

Problems like this is why we have more than one car!

Yeah i know im just a concerned about the sills they seem solid though. I have multiple cars and on thursday i literaly had none to drive as the power steering blew up on the fairlane.

I am going to rust seal and bog the doors as a temporary measure. I only can hope the other doors arent this bad.

OK it turns out body work isnt as scary as i thought. I fixed up my bonnet rust and almost finished sanding yesterday. So now onto the doors. Im glad to finally give the car some proper attention not just silly stuff like Big wheels, venetians, white walls and i dont know lumpy cams lol. Plus im getting some confidence.

Does anyone know the law on driving without doors. It is so tempting while the car is doorless to go for a little spin.

It's very illegal, as you would expect lol. But going for a short burn around the block isn't going to hurt anyone :P

Ok I'm up to sanding the drivers door. as I expected sanding is boring and after doing the bonnet I have had enough.

If you go through the correct progression of grit levels and use the right size & shape blocks that are moderately comfortable, it shouldn't actually feel all that monotonous.

Yes, it will :p sanding bog sucks. I have a couple of spare doors that are alright if you get desperate, no drivers' door though. Going to satin black the whole lower section of the doors to make future touch-ups easier? Don't do it, I've seen too many 200Bs at wreckers like that :(

Been cheating with a random orbital today. I think cause i used fibre glass bog it was just killing sand paper every three seconds. So my bonnet is primed. Driver door basically done just need i lights touch up in a few spots. Is there a reason i shouldnt use the sander??

Alistair what doors do you have? i have almost done the drivers but the rest i havent done alot to. I need Both passenger side doors though. And what is condition like.

I wont be satin blacking the bottom no. I think it will be primer for a little while i havent tried painting yet although in all but the early pics the passenger side guard i painted with a can. turned out pretty well lol.

Acrylic primers are porous and shouldn't just be left bare unless you're going to redo all the bodywork there.

Using a random orbital isn't the worst thing in the world I guess if it's rough as guts, but you definitely wanna finish it with a block by hand.

Thanks heath i suppose i will seal it with something then. I will finish it with sand paper but this fibre glass is annoying to use.

lol bodywork on cars is something I don't want to do excessive amounts of. I enjoy doing it on my own cars (but it is a stretch) and talking about it is okay but I've done it on other people's cars and I definitely don't make a habit of it.

I'll check doors tomorrow and send you a message, pretty sure I'll have something. Might have another parts car coming at some point though which supposedly has some good doors. I will keep you informed.
