Hey guys,
Just picked up this Light blue Datsun 200B Station Wagon from Shepparton area, the plan here is to get all the parts from dads old wagon and get this one back on the road, which would be awesome to have a wagon rather than sedan. Needs a bit of work esspecially after todays drive home, the car ended up overheating on me and the pistons must be stuffed because now there is no compression, so after flat towing the car from nagambie she now lies at home on the nature strip, where she will be brought back to life when funds permit.

Heres some photos:

An L-series overheating, many a time I've been stranded because of that...I'm only on my phone here but by the looks of things there's rust in the roof, just above the gutters? I'd better copyright anything I do to my wagon now since ours are the same colour :p

HAHAHA, I'll convert it to a GX, I will be respraying it so your in the clear Al. I havn't had too much of a good look at the rust, when I got home I just went to sleep. Al your pretty much right mate, rusted in the roof gutters, on the roof only by a small bit, has a hole in the bonnet, a few fenders are rusted and a bit at the lower doors, great thing is, I already have the replacement parts, so that will be no trouble, as for the rust in the roof, after I get the car running I will find someone who can weld and that should fix all that. I'm not sure on what the chassis is like, hopefully all good. As for the overheating, she did about 100K's on an overheated engine and then all I heard was the engine crunching away as I accelerate, then in Seymour it just dropped in speed and we couldn't get it started again.

710's might flash but 810's do not.
Burkey where you keeping an eye on the temp guage? Be a shame if it was just a dodgey radiator or hose and now your engine is buggered.

Yeah I was, problem was the roads I was on there was no where for me to stop and get water, and by the time I was out of the town it was too late. We made a fair few stops at as many servos as possible but it just kept dropping water out of the exhaust pipe, so I'm guessing bugged head gasket. The engine was running fine before it happened so I think it would have been a rusty radiator. Doesn't really matter cause I'll just put the other engine in when I get an engine crane and should be alright. I would have like to have been able to drive it, but it seems that its lost its compression now.
