I just did the same. Partially because I misread the post and thought it said best car on carsales lol.

There are so many features in this car that set it well above par. The dash, firewall, wiring and so many more aspects are just so clean and well thought out.
I hope you have many good times together.

Long time no updates, well it's mostly been spent tweaking things redoing things better and of course breaking things.

Firstly I never liked the steering column surround so here's what I made for that.

Made out of PVC and mdf, covered in alcantara. It looks grey in photos but it is black.

Secondly I finaly got hold of some NOS orange front indicators. Cost me a packet but I like it allot better.

Got more updates over the next day or two as I organise my phone photos and photobucket.

Photobucket is sorted

So I broke the speedo cable, it always had issues because it would get stuck. Anyhow it has led me to get these

These are revolution gauges from speedhut and so far I have nothing but good things to say about them.

I also made some other electronic purchases, Electronic boost controller, retro sound stereo head unit, alpine amplifier and focal component speakers.

Still need to cover in carpet and box in the fuel filler pipe.

So my first instrument cluster was from a 1200 coupe, never got it to fit well.

Here is

And the now the Speedhut one

Hard to get a good photo

Still working on a centre console for the boost and other temp gauge.

And finally I got some one piece bumpers, nice and straight and I like the absence of joins but they don't fill as well around the body as the originals.

After the consol the next on the to do list is to get it lower, especially at the front.

Good to see the update!
How did you run your wires for the speakers? I've always seen them with a wire hanging out.
and... you going to be able to hear that stereo? I can't really hear mine unless its turned up really loud with a 3" exhaust!

Speaker wires are going through a rubber wiring boot just above the bottom hinge, crossover is in the door.
It is extremely loud, can't even turn it up past 50% the clarity is great too. Best speakers I have ever bought.

I'm not a fan of GPS stuff, got the normal speed sensor one, it wires up and should calibrate to the sr sensor without issue.
haven't driven it yet tho. Mucking around with a temp sensor adaptor now waiting on a parts :(
