Finish grinding the welds another day. pack the welder away, start stripping paint and lay a coat of phosphoric acid to stop any rust while car is bare metal

Thanks a lot guys! Always loved the look of 2drs but didn’t want to buy one built because I wanted to build one myself plus asking price would be way over my budget. thought about importing a rusted one but buying a car blind is never a good idea. so once I found out 2 and 4 doors pretty much have the same base at factory it was a no brainer to import some panels. Talked to couple people who have done the conversion saying it’s a walk in the park so began the search. after a lot of loose end emails and calls, finally found a guy on 510realm in Los Angeles who had the panels but no quarter windows and was willing to ship. Luckily Baz from Datsport came to the rescue and had quarter windows shipped to the guy in Los Angeles. Don’t know if you read this but thank a lot Baz and tRacy they are in awesome condition and well packaged. next job was to find an importer who didn’t want 2K plus to bring couple panels over. Found Peter Leahy Custom Imports in Brisbane very cheap and friendly. 10 weeks later finally here. a guy who I was emailing about the conversion sent couple photos showing how he done it so I had a good idea how I was going to fit them up. I’ll try take as many photos as possible. If anyone is looking at doing this conversion there’s a guy on 510realm selling doors, quarters and windows they look better condition than mine. Getting very hard to find someone who is willing to cut up a 2dr and most people are keeping their panels. thanks a lot for the comments will keep the photo coming.

Love this thread mate, great work on the two door.

I have a bog stock L18, currently sitting in my donor 1600 I'm open to selling. It's running fine but it has never been rebuilt in 40 years so it's starting to show all the usual signs of age. Would definitely be good for a rebuild
