Nice 1600 Dave. Be very interested in seeing how your lap times improve with the LSD and the other bits and pieces.

Hmmmmmm, nup

The CSCA series should be good. Although the 1600 isn't a sports car as such, I manage to get invited by way of being a member of the Newcastle MG Car Club. A few of the cars other MG club guys compete with are a 180B and a 240Z, so my Datsun won't be lonely.

Hopefully will be a reasonably-priced way to get onto Eastern Creek and Oran Park (before it closes :( ), as well as Wakefield Park.

The more I muck about with sprints and hillclimbs, the more I'm enjoying it. Unfortuantely, that means the ETA for completing the 180B SSS project just keeps getting pushed further out

I think I'll be running in class NM3 - Non-marque "Technology Free" Road and Competition Cars.

Wheels and tyres are free, induction is free, motor can be replaced with one from the original vehicle manufacturer but must be of the same configuration (ie inline 4, V6, etc), stroke and bore are free, and gearbox is free.

So really a pretty free and easy class :D .

Dave,

When you say replaced from the same marque, do you mean Nissan? AND would this mean that a 1600 with a 'Datsun' SR20DET would be allowed in?
Just trying to find a way :D

The regs for the next event say "As per the NSW Supersprint Vehicle Type 3 for complete definition"

The definition for Supersprint type 3 on the CAMS site states that "Apart from the freedoms and requirements set out hereunder, this category is identical to Group 3J - Improved Production Cars as specified in the CAMS manual"

Since there are FJ powered cars competing in Improved Production (and most likely SR powered ones, just can't think of any ATM), I reckon it would be all good.

Well, Datsport N13 radiator + new water pump + thermostat + Water Wetter = NO MORE OVERHEATING :D

Full day at Wakefield Park today (40 laps) and it never even got to halfway up the temp guage.

I'll grab some pics of the raiator tonight. And got some in-car footage from the weekend  , including a spin in front of an RX7

I'm just happy that I can finally get in the car and drive it hard without having to keep an eye on the temp guage.
